About This Quote

A poet or philosopher should have no fault to find with his age if it only permits him to do his work undisturbed in his own corner. A quotation from one of my favorite poets, Robert Frost. I love this quote because it so perfectly captures the value of work. When he says “his own corner,” he is referring to his own little world of thought and creativity.

In contrast, Frost also makes it clear that he doesn’t mind being disturbed by the outside world. In fact, he looks forward to working in a busy environment, because it is a reminder that he is a vital part of a larger whole.
